The Camel Disc Catalog, a media cataloguing software application for Windows, is meant for all the users out there who want an efficient means of managing their collection of disks. With this application, you can easily create a database that covers all your disks. Take advantage of some handy piece of functionality if you have an ever increasing collection of movies, for example.

If you have 64MB of Ram and a PC powered by anything from Windows 2000 up to Windows 7, you can run Camel Disc Catalog. Just download a 14.7Mb executable, run it, and go through the simple on-screen instructions presented by a setup wizard. You will be done installing Camel Disc Catalog in no time at all.

The application’s interface is divided into three main panes. The pane to the left displays your media catalog (with all the groups and disks you added to it); use the tabs to switch to categories, users, and locations. The pane in the upper right displays more info on a selected group, category, user, or location. The pane in the lower right hand side displays the description provided for a disk, users, or location.

To help you get started, Camel Disc Catalog comes with a sample database with a media catalog that includes info on audio CDs, games, video DVDs, and more. Load this sample database and play around with it to better understand what you can achieve with this media cataloguing software. When you’re ready, start a database and a catalog of your own. In adding disks to the catalog you can use the application’s automatic scan function, you can manually input a disk, and you can import info about a disk from the web. It’s all fairly simple and you should not have any problems figuring things out.

Want to easily manage your collection of disks? Want to know which of your friends have your disks? The answer in simple: get the efficient media cataloguing software application Camel Disc Catalog to help you out.

Pros

The requirements for running Camel Disc Catalog are very low. To help you create a database of your disks, the application provides automatic scanning, manual input, and web import functionality. Keep track of disks you loan to others. Themes can be used to customize the way the interface looks. Back up and restore a database. A sample database is provided so that you can easily get started with the application.

Cons

The free Standard version has limited functionality to offer – databases are limited to 300 disks and collections are limited to 1TB per database.
